Peeking through the snow

Standard

This card was inspired by a beautiful single flower peeking through the snow this week…

simply soft peep flower

After embossing the whisper white card, I used a circle punch to create a peep hole for the flower to peek through and the leaves are from the bird builder punch.

By changing the sentiment this card could be used for Mother’s Day, Get Well, Thank you or Thinking of you card.

Here’s what I used:

Stamps: simply soft & happiest birthday wishes

Card/Paper:  wild wasabi, melon mambo and whisper white

Ink: melon mambo & basic grey

Punches: circle & bird builder

Accessories: gumball green stitched satin ribbon, embossing folder

Simply Soft Love

Standard

I needed a card to house some wedding vouchers …

I started by punching out a full heat from a piece of scrap, using it as a template to mask off the white whisper card. With basic grey ink, I lightly sponged the heart shape. Still with the template in place, I stamped the text from the french foliage stamp set in basic black ink. Removing the template and using the stamp-a-ma-jig, I stamped the flower from the simple soft stamp set and punched out using the scallop circle punch and sponged the edges.

I finished off by using dazzling diamonds and rhinestones.  With the craft whisper white ink I stamped the sentiment ‘love’ from the wonderful words (retired).

This card could also be used as a lovely engagement, valentine’s or anniversary card.

Simply Soft Trio

Standard

I love the Simply Soft stamp set, it can be used for so many occasions …

All the cards were made with 5” x 2.5” whisper white card. I stamped the three different flowers in early espresso and completed them using the colour combinations shown below.

The end panels measure 1.5″ and the centre panel measures 2”

Leave a slight space between each panel before adhering using dimensionals.

Happy Mother’s Day

Standard

I saw a lovely window style card, which inspired me to make this Mother’s Day card …

I stamped out 9 different designs using various stamps from my Stampin’ Up! collection, then punched them out with the 1-1/4 square punch. Using the 1-3/8 square punch, I punched out a further 9 squares in crumb cake and then adhered them together.

On a piece of perfect plum, I arranged and adhered the 9 squares, leaving a very thin border around them all, and leaving an inch at the bottom to enable me to use my scallop edge border punch and place a knotted band of crumb cake taffeta ribbon.

Placing a further strip of eyelet border punched whisper white card and then placed onto a piece of crumb cake card (1/4″ wider and 1″ longer) with a scallop edge border punch finish at the bottom.

Using the beautiful wings embosslits die through the Big Shot, I cut one large and 2 of the stripped butterflies in vellum and one dotty and 2 of the smallest ones in perfect plum. Then layered the coloured ones on top of the vellum butterflies and adding pearls to both the butterflies and selected squares.

It’s not a quick card to make, but being for Mother’s Day, it was well worth the extra effort.

Here’s one in not quite navy …

and a smaller version …

Wishing all you mums out there a very Happy Mother’s Day!

Thinking of You

Standard

Sadly a dear friend of mine lost her husband very suddenly, which took us all by surprise. I wanted to send a card that was plain & simple, but sincere …

I started by punching out a full heat from a piece of scrap, using it as a template to mask off the white whisper card. With basic grey ink, I lightly sponged the heart shape. Still with the template in place, I stamped the text from the french foliage stamp set in basic black ink. Removing the template and using the stamp-a-ma-jig, I stamped the flower from the simple soft stamp set and the sentiment from petite pairs in basis gray.
