Beautiful Black Butterflies

I just love using black on vanilla …

butterfly wings

and just by randomly stamping an image of a butterfly in black

it gives a striking result.

I stamped out an additional butterfly and fussy cut it out and adhered it to the card.

  1. Thanks Deborah – I live in California if you remember and don’t know anything about the metric system. So what is the size of the card? Also – where do I buy the silver sparkle paper. You are so creative as usual – I love getting your emails! Have a great day.

    • Hi Joyce, sorry I forgot you don’t do metric, the card measures approx 5.5 inches. I buy the patterned silver mirror card from a local craft shop in my village. You may be able to find something similar in a craft shop near you or on the internet. Debs x

  2. Hi Deborah – What do you use for the edge of the card to get that deckled look? Do you use decorative scissors? Also, what color is behind the black layer and what size is the card? Where do I go to get measurements and stamp sets you used for the card? Just beautiful!

    • Hi Joyce, I buy pre cut cards and I also have a trimmer with a deckle edge cutter blade. I don’t think I could cut straight enough with decorative scissors. I use alot of silver mirror card with black to lift it. This one looks like very tiny dots. The card measures 144cm x 144cm and the first layer with the butterflies on measures 10.5cm x 10.5cm, the black layer 11cm x 11cm and silver layer 11.5cm x 11.5cm. The stamp set is Best of Butterflies from Stampin’ Up.
      Hope this helps. Deborah x
