Ahoy There Me Matey – Punch Art

Standard

Cameron is a little boy who is mad about pirates …

Like the guitar card I made for my son Lewis, there is a some free hand cutting involved, such as the pirate ship, sails, pirates shirt, the waves and the large cloud.

The hip-hip-hooray! it’s your birthday is using two stamps from the happiest birthday wishes stamp set, which I used my write marker pens to colour the words I required and stamp-a-ma-jig to ensure I got the sentiments straight.

I used the cupcake builder for the clouds. Petite pennants for the flag. Word window cut in half for the arms. The smallest flower from the boho blossoms punch, which I cut off two petals from either side to look like hands.

Circle punches were used for the face, ears, earring, cannon holes and the bandana (and the tails are the end leaf of the bird builder punch). The dots on the bandana are from using the dot, dot, dot stamp and whisper white craft stampin’ pad.

I like the way Cameron’s name looks like it’s bobbing about in the water.

Father’s Day – shirt and tie

Standard

Here is another twist on the other Father’s Day card I posted on 1st June …

Using the patterned papers from the mocha morning specialty designer series paper, I tore and layered them onto the soft suede card. I stamped Happy Father’s Day from the for my family stamp set onto very vanilla card and adhered with dimensionals.

I placed a piece of soft suede taffeta ribbon across the top. Punched out a full heart in early espresso card, a very vanilla heart from the heart to heart punch and decorated with an antique brad.

I saw a tutorial on Martha Stewart’s blog Seasons of Stamping, showing you how to make this fabulous origami shirt, I added a tie and pocket, I used dimensionals to adhere to the card.

Easy Events Birthday Wishes

Standard

I  love the 2011 – 2013 In colours …

and I have used just two of them for this card, pool party & island indigo.

The perfume bottle, flower and handbag are from the every little bit stamp set, stamped onto whisper white with basic gray ink. I then hand painted them using the Stampin’ Up! aqua painter and added a little bling with some rhinestones. The bottom part of the card is achieved using the french filigree stamp in pool party ink. The large stamps are great to use to make your own patterned paper to match the colours you are using. A glue dot is used under the knot of the ribbon to keep it in place.
