Piggy bank – treat cup card

Standard

Some children like to receive money for their birthday, so a piggy bank was required …

To make the cute piggy, I punched the 1-3/4″ circle from a piece of regal rose card. Placed the treat cup over the hole and drew round the rim of the treat cup. Then hand cut it out, so I was left with a hoop and this makes the body. The following circle punches were used …  for the head 1-3/8” , the nose 1” , the tail 3/4”, which I cut into a spiral. The ears are the large heart from the heart to heart punch and the trotters from the modern label punch. The eyes are wobbly ones, but you can use the circles for the eyes from the owl builder punch.

To allow you to gain access to the money, without having to destroy the card. You need to position the 1-3/4” circle punch where you want the treat cup to be, don’t punch it out, but lightly draw in the circle, as this is now a guide line for you to use the perforating tool from the cutter kit, like you were cutting a pizza.

I hope you like this little piggy.

Lilac Hearts

Standard

I made this card for a friend who loves the colour purple, so card just had to be purple too …

I started by cutting a piece of perfect plum, using the Bigz clear scallop square die and then adhered a square of paper stack paper. Using the paper trimmer, I cut 4 x 2 inch squares out of whisper white and stamped each square with a different heart in wisteria wonder ink and adhered them to the square of paper. Then stamped out a second set of the 3 hearts & little ‘love’ hearts and punched them out, including a small heart in perfect plum for the centre. I raised them using the dimentionals to give them a 3D effect. Then place the whole square scallop onto a square piece of whisper white card stock.

Mocha Morning Birthday Wishes

Standard

I wanted to make something a little different and decided to make a front opening card …

I cut out a basic black scallop square from the bigz die, a 3-3/4” square out of crumb cake card and rounded off the corners. Cut a 3” x 6” out of very vanilla and of the black flocking from the mocha morning designer series paper. Score along each end at 1-1/2, so you end up with 3” squares that open from the middle. Open out the designer series paper so the pattern side is face down on the table (plain side facing up) and adhere the very vanilla piece, so that it makes a cross shape when open.

Cut a 2-1/2” crumb cake and 2-1/4” very vanilla square, on which to stamp your sentiment and adhere to the inside of your card.

Fold up your card, so you end up with 2 patterned & 2 very vanilla squares, on which you stamp your hearts. Whilst folded glue and adhere to the base of your card.

Cut a piece of very vanilla card cut at 3-1/2” x 2-1/4” and scored at 3/4”, adhere the 3/4” to the back of the square, to allow your card to stand up like a picture frame.

Heart of Hearts

Standard

I wanted to make a pretty birthday card made up of hearts and this is what I came up with …

I drew a freehand heart shape onto some whisper white card and cut it out. Using all the heart punches in my collection (even the one in the owl builder punch), I punched out many different colours from my subtles paper stack. Folded each heart in half and arranged them into the heart shape, placing a pearl at the centre of each one. When completely full I place directly onto whisper white card, added a knotted pink pirouette taffeta ribbon and the best wishes sentiment from sincere salutations.
